HOW TO PACK A LIGHT SUITCASE

Airlines all over the world have become very strict with their baggage allowances, and we have to keep this in mind whenever we begin packing for a trip, be it business or a vacation. A well packed, light suitcase will make things easier for you, since you will have less to carry around.

The first principle of packing light is to buy a light suitcase. The backpacks and flexible suitcases are better options than the moulded ones.

Be sure of the climate of the regions you are going to be travelling in. At least then you know that you do not have to carry woollens if they are not needed.

Make a list, we tend to forget to do this and pack extraneous items or forget essential ones.

Match your clothes, but do not go overboard. A pair of black trousers, one pair of jeans, can be teamed up with any shirts or tees and tops and embellished with a scarf. Mix and match should be the mantra of your travel.

For colder regions, dress in layers. Carry warm thermals, one short sleeved sweater, a full sleeved warm cardigan and a warm jacket. If it gets really cold, you can wear all of them altogether!

Carry smaller pouches of your toiletries if you are going on a short trip. Toiletries take up a lot of space and need to be packed well.

Wear your heavier shoes, rather than packing them.

Carry all your ID’s and cards in a separate pouch, and keep photocopies of all of them elsewhere in your luggage.

Great tips. When traveling, it is important to keep your suitcase as light as possible. This helps when moving your suitcase around an airport or a hotel, and it also gives you spare room to pack new things you buy on your trip.

Packing for business or pleasure needn’t be a panic-inducing event. Start with a plan, opt for a color scheme, pack travel-friendly fabrics, and choose pieces wisely for function and versatility. Not only will you look chic and well put together, you’ll be amazed by how far you can go with so little.

Very good points. If there is a bottom line, it’s that travelling light is simply a better, more hassle-free way to go. You have more time, because packing takes little. You waste less energy hauling stuff. You know what you have, and where everything is (as you pack your bag the same way every time).

Always give yourself plenty of time to pack. Rushing almost always leads to over-packing or forgotten items, so don’t put yourself in that situation if you don’t have to. Launder everything before you start, check items off your list as you pack, and double-check to make sure you have everything. The piece of mind is worth the extra effort.
