Symptoms of diabetes type 2

Diabetes is caused because your body is unable to process insulin or glucose levels properly. Normally, the body processes the blood-sugar and stores them in the cells which are then used as energy for the different activities that we do. The excess blood-sugar gets accumulated in your body leading to a condition called as diabetes. This type of diabetes occurs in people who are above 30 years of age.
When you have type 2 diabetes, your body develops an insulin resistance wherein the sugar is unable to enter the cells and as a result the sugar levels in your body go up.

When the sugar does not enter the cells, the sugar is stored in a wrong manner in your body leading to a condition called as hyperglycemia. To add to the problems, high sugar levels may compel your pancreas to secrete more insulin which may not be enough to meet your body’s demand.

After a point of time, your pancreas eventually wears out and this leads to no secretion of insulin adding more to the problem.

Type 2 diabetes generally affects people who are overweight as the excess fat interferes with the body’s ability to use the insulin. It also affects those who are thin but elderly in age as at their age the pancreas may not be in a position to secrete the required amount of insulin to process the sugar absorbed by your body.

Besides this, family history and genetics also plays a vital role. Low activity level, bad lifestyle, poor diet and excess body weight may also contribute to the development of this lifestyle health hazard.
